Winter Rental in Bucolic Germantown

Escape the city with a unique 3 MONTH WINTER SUBLET in a spacious and upscale farmhouse at Gatherwild Ranch in Germantown, NY (2 hours north of NYC). Our family is traveling, and we are looking for an individual, couple, or family to warmly occupy our fully furnished home from December 22nd to March 21st. The rental cost is $1500 / month for the house.

Because it is a small farm, there are 2 SWEET GOATS that live on the property. We are hoping that the right renter will be willing to feed them hay each day (or most days, and we have a local person who can fill in when necessary). In exchange for this, we are willing to pay all of the utilities (wifi, electric, heat, garbage removal & plowing, which totals about $500/mo).

HALF or WHOLE HOUSE OPTION: This description is for the rental of one bedroom (our guest room), and we would not rent our remaining 3 rooms. However, we are open to the possibility of a family or 2 friends living here, and could rent out more than one of the bedrooms for an additional cost. Otherwise, we will rent just the guest room in an unoccupied 4 bedroom house for the $1500. All that to say, we are flexible for the right fit.

THE HOME:
1 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms (ultimately a 4 bd / 3 ba home)
Large downstairs footprint with a movement studio, open kitchen and 2 spacious living rooms. Piano, tv (with tons of channels), record player for an entertaining winter season. If a third bedroom is needed for a family, that is a possibility.
The house is fully furnished.

THE PROPERTY:
Enjoy 14 acres of scenic land in a rural setting with a private WOOD FIRED SAUNA & cold plunge. Feel free to utilize the separate artist’s studio & gallery space available with wood stoves in each.

LOCATION:
The home is located in a desirable upstate destination, Germantown, NY, just 15 minutes south of Hudson and 15 minutes north of Rhinebeck. There is a small Wes Anderson feeling town center an half mile away with a general store, art galleries, yoga studio and cafe. Although accessible by train and taxi, It is highly suggested that you have a car. The Amtrak station is 15 minutes away.

INCLUDED:
Electricity, high speed Wi-Fi, trash removal, plowing, wood for sauna in exchange for goat care.
If feeding the goats is not something you would like to do, we can pay someone locally and you can pay utilities in its place.
